Ability West’s Multi-Disciplinary team supports the pupils in the area of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Support, Psychological support and Behavioural Therapy Support.
There is a Social Work Service for families who required same.
The children who are six years and under have their Multi-disciplinary needs met by the Early intervention Team. Supports offered include:
The school holds an orthotic clinic approximately once a term. The APOS (Atlantic Prosthetic Orthotic Service) team runs this clinic. They check and care for the orthotic needs of the children. St. Teresa’s Special School is registered with ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) who provide functional programmes for developing independence for young adults. The senior pupils can achieve certification for completing different modules in independent living and many other areas. You can vist the ASDAN website here. The Senior Class is also currently working towards the Gaisce Awards. We would like to thank pupils and staff from Garbally College for their help with this project.
